In a joint press conference held recently, President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, accompanied by officials from Fundación Mapfre and Fondazzjoni Patrimonju Malti, announced the forthcoming landmark exhibition that confronts the work of Pablo Picasso and Joan Miró, two artists of international renown who dominated the world stage of modern art.

The exhibition, to be held at the Grandmaster’s Palace in Valletta between April 7 and June 30, will include the complete Suite Vollard, a set of 100 etchings by Picasso, as well as 44 paintings by Miró.

The exhibition forms part of a prestigious project coordinated by the Musée National Picasso-Paris titled Picasso-Méditerranée. The project includes over 60 museums and cultural institutions showcasing the work of Picasso as it relates to the Mediterranean.
