BUSUTTIL. On February 8, at Kings College Hospital, London, FRANZ, aged 78, passed away having not regained consciousness following a stroke on Christmas Eve. He had been rehearsing with his choir in preparation for Midnight Mass at St Barnabas Church in Downham, London. He will be greatly missed by his sons Simon and his wife Emily, Matthew and his partner Sarah, his daughter Elena and her husband Andrew, together with his six grandchildren Katie, Isabel, Olivia, Daniel, Joshua and Francesca, his sister Stella residing in New Zealand and his brother Joe and his wife Rita, his nephews and nieces, other relatives, long-time friend Juliette, his neighbours, friends and former colleagues and pupils. His funeral will take place on March 23 at St Barnabas Church in Downham, London.

CASSAR. On February 26, JOSEPH of Gżira, residing in St Venera, widower of Victoria, aged 79. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Annie, his son Lino and his wife Romina, his daughter Marisa and her husband Alex, his sister Beatrice, grandchildren Douglas, Scott, Kylie, Glenn, great-grandchild Dea, numerous relatives and friends, amongst whom Natalino, Michel and his wife Leona. The funeral leaves Gozo General Hospital today, Friday, March 2, at 2.15pm for Nadur parish church, Gozo, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3pm, followed by interment at Nadur cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

DEBRINCAT. On February 20, NICOLINA, née Zammit, of Xewkija, aged 95, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. Dearly loved and sadly missed by her children, Mary, widow of John, Carmelina and her husband Anton, Joe and his wife Agnes, John and his wife Rita, Paul and his wife Gaetane, Antoinette and her husband Joe, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law Margerita, all relatives and friends. The funeral cortége leaves Gozo General Hospital tomorrow, Saturday, March 3, at 3pm for the Xewkija Rotunda where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3.30pm. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

EDWARDS. On February 14, at London Bridge Hospital, London, ANDREW, aged 71, passed away peacefully. He leaves to mourn his loss his children Anna, Gemma, Luke, Charles and Oliver and their children, his mother Josephine, his brother Brian and sister Barbara wife of Christopher, partner Annalea, nephews, nieces and cousins as well as extended family, other relatives and friends.

MUSCAT. On February 28, at Mater Dei Hospital, ĠUŻEPPI of Balzan, aged 94, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his wife Lina, his sons Raymond and Mario, members of the Society for Christian Doctrine (MUSEUM), his brothers Saviour, John and Louis, widower of his sister Mary, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortége leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Saturday, March 3, at 8am for Our Lady of the Annunciation (Marija Annunzjata) parish church, Balzan, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations to the Society for Christian Doctrine (MUSEUM) will be appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

PARLATO TRIGONA. On February 27, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOE, aged 74, passed away to eternal life after a long illness borne with great courage and resilience, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his irreparable loss his devoted wife Anna, his beloved daughter Greta and her husband Peter Ripard, his son-in-law Jean-Pierre Aquilina, widower of his daughter Cristina, his beloved grandchildren Michela and Lisa Aquilina, Julia and Louisa Ripard, his sister Tanya and her husband Joe Mizzi, A&CE, his brother Tony Parlato Trigona and his wife Ingrid, their children Vanessa, Mark and Michael and their families, his in-laws Major Peter Ripard and his wife Liliana and their family and Richard Aquilina, A&CE, and his wife Emily, family, other friends and relatives. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today, Friday, March 2, at 1.30pm for Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation, Valletta, and Puttinu Cares, Mater Dei Hospital, will be greatly appreciated. Dear Lord, grant him eternal happiness. The family wishes to thank his oncologist and nursing staff at Oncology Ward 2 and Medical Ward 5 at Mater Dei Hospital for their care and dedication.

VASSALLO. On March 1, at Mater Dei Hospital, MONICA, aged 87, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her sister Marcelle Mallia, her nieces and nephews, Simone, Angela, Robert, Mark, Vicky, Patrick and Karen and their families, her cousins and other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Saturday, March 3, for St Gregory’s parish church, Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.45am, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

VELLA. On February 25, at Gozo General Hospital, Professor Mro. JOSEPH VELLA, aged 76. Loved and remembered by his wife Nathalie, his children Alan and his wife Anna, Nikki and his fiancée Michelle, his beloved grandchildren Cristina and Andrea, his siblings, other relatives, colleagues in the musical and cultural fields, and his many friends. The funeral cortége leaves from Republic Street, Victoria, Gozo, tomorrow, Saturday, March 3, at 2pm, with the participation of the Soċjetà Filarmonika La Stella and Soċjetà San Pawl Banda Konti Ruggieru. Mass præsente cadavere will thereafter be said by HG Bishop Mario Grech at St George’s Basilica at 3pm. No flowers by request but donations to Il-Ħaġar Museum, Victoria, Gozo, will be greatly appreciated. The family would like to express gratitude to its close relatives who were of tremendous help and solace, together with the musical and cultural communities of Malta and Gozo, particularly Soċjetà Filarmonika La Stella with whom Mro. Vella was closely involved.
