The Planning Authority has intervened to spruce up a long-dilapitated building that is an eyesore right in the heart of Buġibba seafront.

The Authority said its workers have converged on the former International Hotel to address its rundown appearance. Works include the blocking of apertures and the plastering and painting of the facade.

As in similar direct actions, the costs of the works will be recovered from the owner of the building.

The PA urged owners of derelict buildings to carry out the necessary repair works themselves so as to avoid incurring the additional costs of the Authority’s direct actions.
