Aleppo pine trees planted by volunteers of the FKNK hunters' federation over the weekend at l-Aħrax in Mellieħa have been vandalised, the federation said. Many were pulled from the roots.

Tamarisk trees planted a few metres away in a similar activity last year were also vandalised. Those trees were planted during an activity in aid of  Puttnu Cares. Most were planted by people who had benefited from Puttinu Cares.

The Environment Ministry through the Parks Directorate earlier this month provided the federation with 100 Aleppo Pine trees and 50 African Tamarisk trees to be planted at L-Aħrax.
