On February 26, at Casa Arkati, Mosta, ALFRED, widower of Lina, née Bartolo, of Gżira, passed away peacefully at the age of 79, surrounded by his family and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his brothers and sisters, Tessie, Sr Maria, Sr Agnes and Sr Evelyn FMM, Oreste and his wife Marion, Mary widow of his late brother Karm, Josephine, Benny and his wife Miriam, his late wife’s brother Joe widower of Tessie, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Casa Arkati tomorrow, Thursday, March 1, at 1.45pm for Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish church, Gżira, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. ELLUL. On February 27, at Mater Dei Hospital, VERONICA, aged 58, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved husband Frank, her daughter Lucienne and her husband Matthew, her son John and his girlfriend Anthea, and her grand-daughters Amelia and Beatrice, her brother Joseph, her sisters Marija and her husband Paul, Tiziana, Helen and her husband Albert, Anna and her husband George, and Amata and her husband Simon, her husband’s sisters Natalie and her partner Alex, Mariella and her husband Charles, Isabelle and her husband Philip, her nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today, Wednesday, February 28, at 2.30pm for Mellieħa parish church, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3.30pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Our Lady of Victory cemetery, Mellieħa. No flowers by request but donations to Assocjażżjoni Volontarji Lourdes, Malta, will be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest. MORDIKE. On February 23, at Casa Antonia, Balzan, Professor BARRY LESLIE, of Birmingham, UK, residing in Malta, aged 83, passed away peacefully to eternal life. He leaves to mourn his loss his numerous colleagues/students in Malta, Germany, UK, France and India and internationally, other friends and relatives. His body will be cremated in London. Prayer meeting
A prayer meeting for the sanctification of priests and for priestly and religious vocations will be held on March 10 at Żejtun parish church.
The prayer meeting starts at 9pm with Mass followed by adoration which comes to a close at around 11pm.
This religious function is held in different churches in the country every month.
Talks, prayers
Fr Renato Borg will deliver Lenten talks for youths at the Don Bosco Oratory chapel, Gozo, starting on Friday.
All youths are invited to attend with talks starting at 8pm.
The diocesan Eucharistic Movement will be holding a prayer evening at Our Lady of Mount Carmel church, Ta’ Ħamet, Xewkija, on Saturday.
The prayer session, starting at 8pm, will be followed by Mass.
