BUSUTTIL. On February 22, at Mater Dei Hospital, MARY ANNE, née Sciberras, aged 71. She is survived by her husband Anthony (also known as Tony, of FBS Group/Foster Clark & B&S Group), her cherished and precious children Brian and Suzanne, her sisters Monica and her husband John Galea and Margaret and her husband Noel Holland, her Sciberras and Calleja cousins, her in-laws Marlene and her husband Lino Scicluna, Margaret and her husband Joseph Wismayer, Nanette widow of Frank Busuttil, Therese widow of Louis Busuttil, Wendy widow of Charles Busuttil, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortege leaves Mater Dei Hospital today, Monday, February 26, at 1.30pm for Stella Maris church, Sliema, where Mass will be said at 2pm followed by interment in the family vault at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery (entrance through the back gate). May she rest in peace.

GOODWINS. On February 20, at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Paisley, Scotland, ROSANNE, née Gatt, aged 59, passed away peacefully. She leaves to mourn her sad loss her son Richard, her partner Liam Millar, her parents Dr Maurice and Nellie Gatt, residing at Marsascala, her sister Nadine and her husband Frederick Grech, her brother Dr David Gatt and his wife Christine, her nephews Andrew, Thomas and Allan, many other relatives and friends. The family regret that they are unable to receive visitors at this time. Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.

OLIVIERI. On February 23, JOE, aged 91, passed peacefully away at home, surrounded by his family and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his beloved wife Marie Louise née Said, his son Louis and his wife Elizabeth, his daughters Josette and her husband Steve Naudi and Brigid and her husband Patrick White; grandchildren Christina, Ryan and Michael, his sisters Maria Eastwood of Yorkshire, UK, and Doris Grech, his nephew, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Tuesday, February 27 at 1.30pm for St Joseph parish church, Msida, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment in the family vault at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. MUSCAT. On February 24, at Sir Anthony Mamo Oncology Centre, GEORGE, of Balzan, aged 81, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his brothers Alfred, Charles and his wife Doris, Edwin and his wife Connie, his sisters Antoinette, Mary and her husband John, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. A funeral celebration will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, February 27. The cortege leaves Mater Dei Hospital at 8am followed by Mass praesente cadavere at the Annunciation parish church, Balzan, at 8.30am, followed by interment at Balzan cemetery. PARKIN. On February 25, at Mater Dei Hospital, ANN MARIE, née Micallef, of Balzan, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church and surrounded by her family, at the age of 62. Dearly missed and never forgotten by her beloved husband Rodney, her brothers Joseph and his wife Frida, Frank and his wife Margaret, Giovann and his wife Carmen, her sister Mariella and her husband Joseph, her beloved nephews and nieces, other relatives and many friends. The funeral cortege leaves Mater Dei Hospital, tomorrow, Tuesday, February 27, at 2pm for the Annunciation parish church, Balzan, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30pm followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. SCERRI. On February 25, PAUL, aged 90, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Annie, née Fenech, his daughters Marisa and Silvana, his son Edwin and his wife Doris, and his grandaughters Michaela and her boyfriend Luca and Martina and her boyfriend John, his sisters, Bice, Victoria, Georgina and her husband Paul Mifsud, and Doris and her husband Frankie Vella, his wife’s brothers Frans, Charlie and his wife Agnes, Mary and her husband Tony Calleja, John and his wife Carmen, Paul, residing in Australia, and her sister Mary and her husband Tony, his nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei tomorrow, Tuesday, February 27 at 2.30pm for St Dominic’s church, Rabat, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3pm, followed by interment in the family vault at Santa Margherita Cemetery, Rabat. Spiritual retreats

The Centre for Ignatian Spirituality is organising the following religious activities:

A retreat for families will be held at Mount St Joseph, Mosta, from March 2 to 4.

The retreat, led by Fr Pierre Grech Marguerat and Cristina Spiteri, will enable couples to pray in quiet surroundings while trained child minders keep their children busy with a creative programme of fun activities and age-appropriate reflections.

There will be time for the participants to pray as individuals, as a couple as well as a family.

A retreat for divorced, civilly remarried Catholics, as well as those interested in the subject, led by Fr Dominic Sultana, will be held at Manresa House, Victoria, from March 8 to 11.

A retreat – Holy Week in Prayer – led by Fr Christopher Vella SJ and lay collaborators, will be held at Mount St Joseph from March 29 to April 1.
