Sofia Narmania and Lucie Kucharova will today perform a piano and cello concert at the Augustinian Monastery, Valletta.
Award-winning Narmania, who was a child prodigy, and cellist Kucharova will perform a lyrical programme highlighting works of Gabriel Fauré, including his Sicilienne, Elegy op. 21, Papillon and Apres un Reve. The duo will also perform Antonín Dvořák’s Silent Woods, Camille Saint-Saëns’ The Swan and Sergei Rachmaninov’s lyrical Vocalise op. 34.
The concert will be held today at noon at the St Augustine Monstery, Old Bakery Street, Valletta. Proceeds from the event will go to the monastery’s restoration project. After the concert those attending will be able to join a free visit of the monastery’s chambers. Tickets are available from the venue half an hour before the concert.
