Many questions remain pending in connection with the Vitals and Steward Health Care agreement, the UĦM - Voice of the Workers said on Saturday.

The union said it had requested a bilateral meeting with the government to be able to put forward proposals regarding this issue.

The union said it still believes the Attorney General should investigate the contract.

The UĦM also underlined the need that all workers would remain under the government's responsibility once the transfer is carried out.

Doctors had resorted to industrial action over the way St Luke's, Karin Grech and Gozo hospitals are being transferred to Steward Global Healthcare.

Backing the Medical Association of Malta, UĦM also ordered nursing aides at Mater Dei Hospital not to inform patients about new appointments.
