Pio Vassallo, who has assumed the full responsibility of Vassallo Group as chief executive officer, will be focusing his efforts on the group’s strategy outlined in the group’s ‘Vision 2023’.

This includes strengthening the synergy between the various companies forming Vassallo Group and representing the group in all of its current and future partnerships.

To this end, Mr Vassallo has stepped down as chief executive officer of Vassallo Builders Limited but will remain an executive director on the board.

Mr Vassallo received his undergraduate degree in construction management from the University of Reading in 1999 and is currently reading for his Master’s degree in Business Administration. He holds directorships on the boards of  a number of subsidiaries and directorships in all of the associate companies of the group in the hospitality and real estate sectors.

Jonathan Buttigieg

At Vassallo Builders Limited Mr Vassallo is being replaced by Jonathan Buttigieg, who has been appointed chief executive officer of the company.

Mr Buttigieg joined the firm in 1993 and recently occupied the position of deputy CEO and commercial director. He has served as a company director of Building Consultancy Services Limited, Makeezi Limited and is currently a company director of Powerezi Limited and Midi plc. Mr Buttigieg has been a participating director on the Vassallo Group Strategy Board since 1999 and has represented Vassallo Builders in several joint venture projects throughout his career.

Mr Buttigieg received his undergraduate degree as a civil engineer from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Toronto in 1992 and then went on to successfully read for his Master’s degree in Construction Management from the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Bath in 1999.
