European capital

I refer to Mario Dingli’s contribution wherein he refers to Rai news claiming that “Palermo has been declared European Capital of Culture for 2018”.

I would like to correct and inform readers that Palermo has been declared Italian Cultural City for 2018 and not European.

Valletta is the only European capital enjoying this “prestigious status” this year.

Matera, in Italy has been declared European Capital of Culture 2019.
