The Manoel Theatre, together with the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, will tomorrow perform Carmen Fantasy at the Manoel Theatre.
Under the direction of resident conductor Michael Laus, the MPO will begin with Ravel’s Ma Mère l’Oye suite, whose five movements are each inspired by a popular fairy tale.
The MPO’s principal double bass player, Gjorgji Cincievski, will subsequently take up a solo role for Stuart Sankey’s virtuosic Carmen Fantasy for Double Bass and Orchestra, inspired by Bizet’s famous opera.
The orchestra will also play Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 in A major, Op. 92.
The event is being held at the Manoel Theatre in Valletta, tomorrow at 8pm. This performance is suitable for adults and children aged six and over. For tickets visit http://maltaorchestra.com or www.teatrumanoel.com.mt.
