Martial arts club moves to new location at De La Salle

Checkmate Fight Club Malta at De La Salle College, set up four years ago by Charlo Spiteri, first Dan black belt in traditional jiu-jitsu, has moved to a new location within the college. Mr Spiteri has trained both locally and in the UK.

With an enhanced ‘dojo’, Japanese term for ‘place of the way’, the club can help students attain better results and to reach a higher level in mixed martial arts (MMA).

The club trains from beginners to professional athletes and produces ‘complete’ fighters well trained in all areas of MMA, such as striking, jiu-jitsu, groundwork and takedowns. Apart from techniques, which are extremely important, the club also focuses on intense physical training and character building.

Individual attention is offered during all classes. For more information, visit the club’s website or look up the club on Facebook and Instagram.
