An injured turtle has been taken in for treatment after it was found struggling on the beach at Fomm ir-Riħ.

Officers of the Environment and Resources Authority attended to the injured turtle encountered while they were carrying out surveying works.

The officers responded quickly to the stranded turtle, by informing the relevant entities and caring for the animal until the Nature Trust volunteers arrived on site, who then transferred the injured turtle to the San Luċjan facility.

The extent of its injuries are not yet known.
