BUSUTTIL. On January 24, at Mater Dei Hospital, MARIE LOUISE, aged 84, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her son Costantino, her sister Pia, wife of Victor, Helen, widow of Anthony, Joyce, widow of her brother Joseph, her brother-in-law Anthony, her sister-in-law Josephine, their respective spouses, nieces and nephews, all other relatives and friends. The funeral cortége leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Thursday, January 25 at 1.30pm for Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 2pm, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. CEFAI. On January 23, at St Vincent de Paul, LOUISE of Sliema, aged 80, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her brother John and his wife Barbara, her brother-in-law Louis widower of her sister Maria Zammit, her nieces Johanna, Angela and Sarah, her nephews Jean and Gregory, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves St Vincent de Paul Residence tomorrow, Thursday, January 25, at 8.30am for the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery chapel where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9am, followed by interment. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest. MICALLEF. On January 22, FRANK (former Allied Newspapers Advertising Department employee), of Birkirkara, aged 88, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his wife Carmen, née Camilleri, his son Carmel and his wife Svetlana, his sister Antoinette, relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be said today, Wednesday, January 24, at 2.30pm at St Theresa Sanctuary, Birkirkara, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. TOLEDO. On January 23, at her residence in Naxxar, MARY ROSE, aged 89, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her great loss her husband Frank, her children Marlene and her husband Joe, Roger and his wife Ann Rose, Fr Ray and Noel and his wife Miriam, her grandchildren Christian, Glorianne, Francesca, Carmelia, Bertha, Paul, Neil and Christine, her sisters Doris and Gemma and their families in Australia, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortége leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Thursday, January 25 at 8am for Naxxar parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.45am, followed by interment at St George Cemetery, Naxxar. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

Rabat Band for St Paul’s feast

The Filarmonica Cittadina Conte Ruggiero will perform in Valletta on Saturday, feast of the Shipwreck of St Paul.

Conducted by musical director Mro James Chappell, the band will play Cardenio Botti’s Inno Marcia San Paolo at 5.30pm as the statue of St Paul leaves the Collegiate Church.

It will then proceed along the main streets of the capital playing festive band marches and Pauline hymns. The Rabat band will salute the statue again as it enters the church bringing to an end the external festivities in honour of Malta’s patron saint.
