Shape of Water, filmmaker Guillermo del Toro's fantasy/drama about a woman who who discovers a secret at a hidden, high-security government laboratory in 1962 Baltimore, is leading this year's race at the Oscars with 13 nominations. 

The 90th Oscar nominations are taking place at the Academy's Samuel Goldwyn Theatre in Los Angeles ,with The Lord Of The Rings star Andy Serkis and Girls Trip actress Tiffany Haddish hosting.

Beauty And The Beast, Blade Runner 2049, Darkest Hour, Dunkirk and The Shape Of Water have been nominated for the best production design Oscar.

Morrison has become the first female cinematographer to be nominated for the best cinematography Oscar with a nod for Mudbound. Also nominated is British cinematographer Roger Deakins, who has received his 14th best cinematography Oscar nomination for Blade Runner 2049. He has never won the award.

British costume designer Jacqueline Durran has received two nominations for the best costume design Oscar - for her work on Beauty And The Beast and Darkest Hour.

Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood has picked up his first Oscar nomination for his score for Phantom Thread. His score for There Will Be Blood was deemed ineligible by the Academy in 2008.

Also nominated in the category is Hans Zimmer, who has picked up his 11th Oscar nomination for the Dunkirk score.

Composer John Williams has received his 51st Oscar nomination for his score for The Post.

Blade Runner 2049, Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2, Kong: Skull Island, Star Wars: The Last Jedi and War For the Planet Of The Apes have been nominated for the visual effects Oscar.

Darkest Hour, Victoria and Abdul and Wonder have been nominated for the makeup and hair styling Oscar.

Allison Janney has been nominated for the best supporting actress Oscar for I, Tonya alongside Laurie Metcalf for Lady Bird, Mary J Blige for Mudbound and Octavia Spencer for The Shape Of Water and Lesley Manville for Phantom Thread.

Sam Rockwell and Woody Harrelson have been nominated for the best supporting actor Oscar for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri alongside Willem Dafoe for The Florida Project, Richard Jenkins for The Shape Of Water and Christopher Plummer for All The Money In The World.

Actress Sally Hawkins is nominated for Best Actress for her role in The Shape of Water.

The Boss Baby, The Breadwinner, Coco, Ferdinand and Loving Vincent have been nominated for the best animated feature Oscar.

Oldman is nominated for his role as Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour, while Day-Lewis is nominated for Phantom Thread.
