Courses aimed at training installers and engineers of solar heating and solar photovoltaic (PV) system installations are being held by the University of Malta’s Institute for Sustainable Energy, starting on February 5. Lectures will be held twice a week between 3 and 5pm.

The courses are registered with the Regulator for Energy and Water Services (REWS) and participants who obtain at least Grade B (70 per cent) will be certified to practise solar installation for five years. Their names will also be placed on the REWS website and be recognised as certified installers.

The courses are also registered under the Malta Enterprise Get Qualified Scheme, whereby participants who pass the course are eligible for a refund of up to 70 per cent of the course fees. Further information on this scheme may be obtained from the website below. Registrations close at noon on Friday. Due to the limited number of places, applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
