Air Malta refers to the letter by Revel Barker titled ‘Price vs cost’ (January 6).

Air Malta’s advertised lowest (hand luggage only) one-way fare, Go Light, is priced at €39, including taxes and all charges. These charges include ‘booking fees’. No other charges are levied from the airline’s portal www.airmalta.com.

The same price is used through all booking channels, regardless if you buy through a travel agent, from the Air Malta website and call centre. This is in contrast with most European airlines that now charge extra if a booking is made through a traditional reservation system (travel agent).

The fare is the lowest available on any Air Malta destination on flights including the airline’s new destinations of Comiso and Frankfurt. This fare is also being made available on all other new destinations that are being launched this summer including Malaga, Casablanca, Manchester, Lisbon, St Petersburg and Venice.

Air Malta has a very transparent pricing policy. Unlike other airlines, it does not levy extra charges for credit card payments and late check-in. The airline’s fares are also very transparent and customers have the facility to view Air Malta’s cheapest all-inclusive fares over a 12-month period at www.airmalta.com/find-best-fare.
