Epiphany, the manifestation of Christ to the Gentiles as represented by the Magi in the Bible, was celebrated with great pageantry in Għajnsielem, Qala and Xagħra.
A large crowd welcomed the triumphal entry of the Magi at the Bethlehem live crib in Għajnsielem, who brought Jesus gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.
The Magi also made their triumphal entry on horseback at Qala Square. Clad in ornate oriental outfits, they offered their gifts to Baby Jesus in a public manifestation of worship.
The re-enactment of this Biblical narrative was also held at Victory Square in front of the Basilica of the Nativity of Our Lady, Xagħra.
Known also as the Cavalcata dei Re Magi, the Three Kings made their way to the church parvis where they paid homage to the Holy Family in the presence of shepherds and other Biblical figures.
