According to a report carried in the Times of Malta (January 6), 83 per cent of respondents are satisfied with Maltapost services. Had I been approached I would have given a positive reply too but with some exceptions, which I have written about many times.
I visit the Maltapost centre in Mosta when I need to buy stamps, register a letter or retrieve one or collect a parcel when I am not at home on delivery date. The employees are very efficient, always with a smile on their face and ready to answer customers’ queries.
What I do not like is wasting time in queues while other customers pay their telephone, water and electricity bills or renewing their hunting licence.
I feel something must be done by Maltapost to try and better accommodate customers who need to make use of actual postal services. In my previous correspondence about the subject, I had suggested there should be different hours for those paying their bills or else have separate windows.
So far, all suggestions have fallen on deaf ears and when requiring postal services one must wait in a long queue for quite some time until others pay bills that have nothing to do with postal services.
