The integration of photovoltaic technology in the built environment was the theme of a three-day meeting in Malta of representatives from institutions from five countries supported by the European Commission’s Renewable Energy and Landscape Quality (Rely) Cost Action.
Representatives from the Planning Authority, the Energy and Water Agency, the Regulator for Energy and Water Services, and the University of Malta also delivered presentations and took part in the discussions held during the meeting, which was hosted by the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (Mcast) Energy Research Group. The delegates also toured various sites around Malta.
The international delegates included Dr Naamate Teschner from the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology in Israel; Dr Dina Stober from he University of Osijek in Croatia; Dr Alexandra Kruse from the Institute for Research on European Agricultural Landscape in France and Berthe Jongejan from the Cultural Heritage Agency in the Netherlands.
The Rely project is led by Prof. Michael Roth from Nuertingen-Geislingen University, Germany.
The meeting in Malta was led by Dr Brian Azzopardi, senior lecturer and principal investigator at the Mcast Energy Research Group, and was supported by Mcast energy researchers and students.
