Premier League high-flyers Balzan have completed their first signing in the January transfer window after taking Serbian defender Ivan Bozovic on loan from FK Zemun until the end of the season.

The 27-year-old arrived in Malta this week and agreed personal terms and is already available for Balzan coach Marco Micovic ahead of the BOV Premier League restart this weekend.

Bozovic has been on the books of FK Zemun for the last two season and has played the majority of his career in Serbia with spells at OFK Belgrade, Smederevo and Jedinstko Uzice.

Bozovic is expected to make his Balzan debut this weekend when the Reds take on St Andrews at the Centenary Stadium on Saturday.

The Serbian right back is not the only player to join Balzan as the Reds are also closing in on signing winger Siraj Arab.

The Valletta product was on the books of Ħamrun Spartans who decided to part ways with the player.

Siraj will now continue the season with Balzan where he will rejoin with his brother Samir Arab and is set to put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half years contract.
