BONELLO – PAUL, aged 55, went to join the Choir of Angels on January 1 at Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi. He leaves to mourn his sad loss his sister Maria and her husband Walter Bonnici, his brothers Joseph and his wife Rita, Charles and his wife Annabelle, and Lawrence and his wife Anna-Maria, his beloved nephews and nieces, Kathryn, Elaine and her husband Sven Melander, David and his wife Stephanie, Maria, Kevin, Chiara and her husband Clint Tanti, Julian, Michelle and Alison, Mattias, Alfred, Giulia, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Friday, January 5, at 2.15pm for the chapel of Id-Dar tal-Providenza where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3pm, followed by interment at Siġġiewi cemetery. Donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest. Heartfelt thanks go to the director and staff of Id-Dar tal-Providenza for their care and utmost dedication to Paul.

BONELLO. On January 2, at Sir Anthony Mamo Oncology Centre, ROSE, née Abela of Dingli, aged 68, following a short illness borne with Christian fortitude. She leaves to mourn her great loss her husband Joseph, her daughters Maria and her husband Alan Formosa and Victoria and Pierandrea, her grandson Julian, her brothers and sisters, John Mary and his wife Frances, Rita and her husband Joseph, Emanuela and her husband Francis, Saviour, Joseph and his wife Carmen, Connie, Mario and his wife Rita, Carmen and her husband John, Monica and her husband Paul, Anthony and his wife Angela, and Mary Lourdes and her husband Joseph, her in-laws Justin and his wife Cecile and Carmen, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Thursday, January 4 at 2.30pm for Dingli parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Dingli cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Malta Hospice Movement and Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, would be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

BUHAGIAR. On January 1, ANTHONY, of Attard, aged 69, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of the Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his beloved wife Mary Dorothy née Abela, his children Julian and his wife Rita residing in London, Gordon residing in Brussels and Andria and her partner Johan, his grandson Sebastian Rafael, his brothers and sisters, in-laws, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei hospital on, Friday, January 5 at 8.30 am for Santa Maria parish church, Attard where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9am followed by interment at Mosta Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, and the Mission Fund, Mosta, will be appreciated.Lord, grant him eternal rest.

CASSAR. On  January 1 at Mater Dei Hospital, NICHOLAS, of Siġġiewi, residing in Rabat, aged 53, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Bernardette, his children Katrina, Anton and Nicole, his parents Anthony and Cecilia, his sister Grace and her husband Oliver, his brother Charlie and his wife Sandra, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today, Wednesday, January 3, at 2pm for St Dominic’s church, Rabat, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2.30pm, followed by interment at Siġġiewi Cemetery. CIANTAR. On January 1, at his parents’ home, MANUEL (Il-Mellu) of Rabat, residing in St Paul’s Bay, aged 60, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Shiela, his daughter Lia, his mother Maria, Lucy, his brother Joey and his wife Carmen, his sisters Mary, Rena, Anna and her husband Anthony Sant, Antida and her husband Joey Agius, his brother Simon and his wife Lisa, 15 nephews and nieces and four great nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Friday, January 5 at 2.30pm for St Paul’s Collegiate church, Rabat, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3pm, followed by interment at Santa Margherita Cemetery, Rabat. No flowers by request but donations to Villa Mgr. Gonzi, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

FELICE. On January 1, at Mater Dei Hospital, MARGARET, of Cospicua residing in Żabbar, aged 74, passed away peacefully. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Joseph, her daughters Isabel and husband Neville, Bridget and her partner Antoine, her sons Mark and Ralph, her grandchildren Shaun, Peter, Ann, Michael, Andy and James, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today, Wednesday, January 3, at 9.15am for Żabbar parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 10am followed by interment at Żabbar cemetery. Special thanks to the medical and nursing staff at Mater Dei Hospital and Karin Grech Hospital. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

LESTER. On January 1, Sister NORAH, ex-lecturer Mater Admirabilis Training College, died peacefully at the Convent of the Sacred Heart, Roehampton, London. Past students of MATC are kindly requested to remember her in their prayers. Rest in peace.

PARKER. On January 2, MARY ANNE, née Tabone, aged 87, of Sliema, died peacefully in her sleep at home. She leaves to mourn her loss her daughters Carol Anne and her husband Alfred Mifsud, Angela and her husband Giovanni Arena, her grand-children Robert and his wife Marie Claire, Michael and Daniel, her brothers and sister, nephews and nieces, her dedicated carers Joann and Marie Therese. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on, Friday, January 5 at 8am for the Church Jesus of Nazareth, Sliema where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9am followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. ASCIAK. In loving memory of LILIAN, née Pillow, on the fifth anniversary of her demise. Master’s Degree

Roberta Schembri completed a Master’s Degree in Gerontology and Geriatrics with the University of Malta. Her research focused on residential respite care.This research was funded by Endeavour Scholarship Scheme.

Meeting of reflection

The Fraternity of Blessed Charles de Foucauld is holding a meeting of reflection about the Incarnation of Our Lord – “Emanuel: God With Us” – on Sunday, between 9.30am and 1pm.

The programme, at Ċentru Kristu Ragħaj, The Seminary at tal-Virtu, includes silent adoration, coffee break, a talk by Prof. Fr Hector Scerri and Mass.
