Please allow me to make a point regarding Eddy Privitera’s letter, some three weeks ago, when defending Lino Cassar, editor of Ix-Xewka vis-à-vis Daphne Caruana Galizia’s comments.

He says that Cassar’s writings were humorous criticism, unlike Caruana Galizia’s cruel comments. Criticism, whether humorous or not, was andis toxic.

He says that the sum of money collected by the Nationalist Party is an incredible amount. Who on earth would dare say such foolishness? And how on earth, again, did he reach such a conclusion?

PN leader Adrian Delia, together with the remaining intellectual MPs, managed to reorganise the party in a way that would possibly work in their favour come next election. What is wrong if a political party holds activities for its members to enjoy?

He calls “magic” the sum raised by the PN. I would tend to agree with him in describing the amount as “magic”.

What the Maltese people would like to know now is how exactly the money collected from their taxes is being spent.

They need to know how extravagant amounts were spent under the present administration.

They would like to know about the allegations of money laundering involving a Cabinet minister and a person close to the Prime Minister.

They wonder how many projects were announced but never happened. What really lies behind the Vitals deal. The list is endless.

Many are those in Malta bewildered by the Labour’s bad decisions and the lack of transparency.
