Times of Malta yesterday highlighted a ramshackle graffiti scribble at the entrance to Valletta that seemed somewhat out-of-place, given its upcoming title as 'European Capital of Culture'.

Someone, somewhere must have noticed the story, because the sign pointing to Valletta has now been covered using paper printouts.

A Times of Malta reader sent in a photo taken this morning of the new, improved sign, which now also includes a separate A4 sheet directing pedestrians towards the nearest public toilets, with the original painted sign still clearly visible underneath.

Whoever said Maltese were ones for half-measures?
