St Martin’s College level 11 student Angela Bettoni launched her fourth book Martha Goes to Boarding School earlier this month at the school library.

Addressing level 6 pupils gathered for the event, Bettoni described how her love of reading and writing led her to write four stories that have been published as books over the years. She recounted how at a very young age she loved making up stories and her parents encouraged her to put pen to paper and develop her ideas. She said the story of her latest book was inspired by the Enid Blyton boarding school stories and Melissa J Morgan’s Summer Camp series.

The event ended with a book signing session. Bettoni is donating all the proceeds from the sale of the book to the Hands of Hope charity in Sri Lanka which is helping to teach teenage girls with learning difficulties skills to become more independent.
