More than 40 people were injured in a train crash near the German city of Duesseldorf, fire department and police spokesmen said on Tuesday.

More than 150 people were on board at the time of the crash which left more than forty people wounded, three with serious injuries.

Rescue teams arrived at the train tracks shortly after, pulling people from the partially derailed train.

It is not yet clear what caused the trains to collide
