Brave swimmers will tomorrow be diving into the chilly waters in aid of a great cause.

The Grand Hotel Excelsior is organising this fundraising swim in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund (MCCF).

Waterpolo players, both current and retired, will participate in an exhibition match. Furthermore, a group of long-distance swimmers from the St Joseph Sports Club will take the challenge further by swimming around the Marsamxetto Harbour.

Participants and spectators will be welcomed to a festive atmosphere by the police band.

An array of activities are also available for those who would prefer not to swim. Motor enthusiasts will be in for a treat as the Ferrari Club in Malta will be displaying its prestigious cars at the hotel entrance. A go-kart racetrack will also be available for budding junior motorists aged five to 13.

Five-time World Champion Aaron Ciantar will be displaying the Powerboat which recently won the world title in Italy, together with his trophies.

President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca is expected to attend.

The hotel is covering all the organisational costs.

The entire proceeds of the event will be donated to the MCCF.
