The Planning Authority has received 98 applications for boutique hotels, guesthouses and other forms of tourism accommodation in 2017.

Replying to a Parliamentary Question by MP Alex Muscat, Infrastructure Minister Ian Borg said that of these, 11 were in Valletta and 12 in St Julians. In addition, Gzira has nine applications while Cospicua has seven.

Mr Muscat also asked about the number of applications for medium rise blocks and highrises, and confirmed that 10 had been received as follows:

Gzira - 2

Marsa - 1

Msida - 1

Qormi - 1

St Julians - 2

Sliema - 1
