The Gozo Tourism Association, in collaboration with the Malta Tourism Authority and Booking.com, organised a half day conference, entitled ‘Realising the potential of online bookings’, at the Grand Hotel, Mġarr.

The conference, open for GTA members, was addressed by GTA chairman Paul Scicluna, who spoke on the increasing awareness of tourism establishments in online bookings.

Strategic Planning chief officer and Malta Tourism Authority CEO deputy Leslie Vella gave a detailed and comprehensive presentation of the trends, patterns and behaviours of foreign visitors. Booking.com account manager (Malta) Alessandra Blanck, together with partner content specialist Elisa Giringhelli and booking home partner Marco Giardina, gave a presentation on Focus - Gozo Trends Booking.com.

Malta Tourism Authority CEO Paul Bugeja brought the conference to an end with his presentation on the relevance of online bookings and the commit-ment of MTA to curb down unlicensed accommodation establishments.
