A traffic warden in Mrieħel went on a parking ticket spree this morning, fining a string of cars parked on pavements along Triq l-Esportaturi.

Eyewitnesses said that at one point a row of more than 30 cars sported a dreaded white receipt tucked beneath their windshield wiper.

The road, which straddles the side of hardware superstore Homemate as well as the rear of the Farsons plant, is regularly filled with parked cars, with commuters making the most of Mrieħel's limited parking spots.

The cars were all illegally parked on pavements along the road, blocking pedestrian access and forcing people to walk along the road.
