ATTARD. On November 18, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOE, mayor of Żejtun and president of the Żejtun Band Club, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his sad loss his beloved wife Jessie née Ciangura; his daughters Annabelle and her husband Carlo Stivala; Maria and her husband Edgar Brincat; his grandchildren Christina, David, Andre and Jacques; his brother Charles and his wife Rita Attard; his sister Carmen and her husband Raphael Azzopardi; Connie and Nina,  widows of the mayor’s two late brothers, Alfred and John, respectively; his sisters-in-law and their husbands; his brother-in-law and wife, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends; members of the Żejtun local council; the Żejtun Band Club Committee and members; and all the population of Żejtun who consider Joe as their beloved ‘father’. On Tuesday, November 21, a corteo will depart from Mater Dei Hospital at 3.30pm. At 4.30pm, the corteo will leave from Carlo Diacono Square (St Angelo Street), Żejtun, to the Pandora Theatre where praesente cadavere will be from 5pm till 8pm through to Wednesday, November 22, between 8.30am and noon. On Wednesday, November 22, the funeral will start with a corteo from the Pandora Theatre at 1pm to St Catherine’s parish church, Żejtun, accompanied by the Żejtun Band Club where Mass will be said at 2.30pm. Instead of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Fondazzjoni Nazzaret. May he rest in peace.

BUTTIGIEG – On Friday, November 17 at Mater Dei Hospital, Mary, aged 88, of St Julian’s passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of the Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her brothers Joe and his wife Lilian, Tony and his wife Sylvia, Fortunata, widow of Iro Galea, her dearest nephews and nieces, their spouses and families, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Monday, November 20, at 7.45am for Our Lady of Good Council church in Paceville, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30am, followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Poor Clares, St Julian’s, will be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

CATANIA. On November 9, VICTOR GEORGE, residing in England, aged 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his irreparable loss his wife Elise, his son Peter and his wife, his daughter Amy, his sisters Doris and her husband Arnold Grech, Josette and her husband Joseph Fava, his in-laws Marlene, widow of his brother Charles, Rose, widow of her brother Alfred, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends in Malta and England. Victor will be laid to rest in England. Mass in his memory will be said on Thursday, November 30, at 6.30pm at the St Joseph the Worker parish church, Birkirkara. The attendance of relatives and friends will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

CUTHBERT – LYNDA of St Paul’s Bay, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 13, surrounded by her close family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 21, at 11am at St Paul’s Pro-Cathedral, Valletta. No flowers please but there will be a retiring collection for the Malta Parkinson’s Disease Association.

FARRUGIA. On November 18, at Mater Dei Hospital, DORIS née Bonnici, of Ibraġ, aged 68, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Gianni (tal-Hotrod, Msida), her children Gaby and her husband Marco, Therese, Nickolai and fiancée Abigail, Matthew and fiancée Katryna and grandchildren Elisa, Giuseppe and Luigi, her brothers and sisters, in-laws, other relatives and friends. The funeral will be held at Burmarrad parish church on Wednesday, November 22, at 3pm followed by interment in the family grave at St Paul’s Bay cemetery. Lord grant her eternal rest.

MICALLEF – On Friday, November 17, JULIET, of Sliema residing in Attard, aged 84, passed away peacefully  at Mater Dei Hospital comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Frank, her daughter Anna and her husband Robert Cachia, her son Andrè, her in-laws, her husband’s brothers, Joseph, widower of Lina, Twanny and his wife Sandra, who reside in Canada, and his sisters Mary, widow of Vivian Rickard, and Tessie and her husband Victor Shaw, numerous relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Tuesday, November 21, at 1.30pm for Santa Maria parish church, Attard, where mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Hospice Movement will be greatly appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

ZAMMIT – On November 18, WINSTON of Sliema, aged 67, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church at Sir Anthony Mamo Oncology Centre. He leaves to mourn his loss his sisters Jeanette, Marcelline and Sr PierMarie, his in-laws Wilfred Storace Rutter and Carm A. Fenech, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Monday, November 20, at 1.30pm for Sacro Cuor parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2pm followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery.
