A delegation from Alternattiva Demokratika was welcomed at the PN headquarters today for a meeting with PN leader Adrian Delia.
Dr Delia said political parties had the duty to work together in the interest of Malta’s reputation especially considering what the country was going through.
At such a critical time it was more important than ever before that political parties shared ideas for the benefit of the people.
It was through differences that they would have the ability to represent the full diversity of the people.
AD chairman Carmel Cacopardo said the current political climate was leading to reputational problems for the country in the international arena. The country's already weak institutions, he said, were being weakened further.
The need for a Constitutional Convention was also discussed. Mr Cacopardo said AD believed the convention was necessary for solutions to strengthen the state's institutions and to tackle issues and problems with the constitution, which had been ignored throughout the years, to be found.
The meeting was held at AD’s request.
