The Pianist

The Pianist show is centred on, in, under and around one of the most magnificent of all musical instruments – the grand piano. Accompanying this elegant apparatus is the pianist himself. Only he is so focused on impressing everyone that, before he realises it, his show has transformed into the spectacularly amusing catastrophe that is The Pianist. To salvage his somewhat unsalvageable dignity, the pianist draws on his imagination and comes up with some rib-tickling and absurd results.

Performances: Tomorrow and Sunday at City Theatre, Valletta, at 5pm. (Suitable for children aged 8+). Duration: 60 minutes. Language: English)

Aħn’aħwa jew m’aħniex?

This theatre performance is about two brothers – Alex (Ronald Briffa) and Pete (Jamie Cardona). One lives in England, the other in Malta. One is a business person, the other studies at Junior College. One knows how to cook, the other devours. One knows while the other wishes. When they both become orphans, they need to get a grip and sort out their lives, together.

Performances: Tomorrow and on November 20, 22 and 26 at St James Cavalier Theatre, Valletta at 6.30pm. (Suitable for ages 13+. Duration: 60 minutes. Language: Maltese)

H2ommes

In H2ommes, a tiny puppet-like figure is brought to life and interacts with his real-life animators. His adventures begin when he accidentally falls down a drain and encounters the strange and inspiring properties of water in its natural forms: rain, clouds and  ice. In turn his wonder at his discoveries reinvigorates the performers alongside him. In this unique blend of music and reuse of unlikely everyday objects, the performers create a dream-like world which tells a touching story that is also gently thought-provoking.

Performances: Tomorrow at 5pm, Saturday at 11.30am and 5pm, and Sunday at City Theatre Studio, Old Bakery Street, Valletta, at 6pm. (Suitable for children aged 2+. Duration: 40 minutes. Language: Non-verbal)
