I studied the accordion under Carmelo Abela and also had some instruction by Charles Camilleri.
I write to launch an appeal to find my first Settimio Soprani (Rialto), which has sentimental value for me because it was ordered by Camilleri who then told me: “Philip, you take it.” Unfortunately, I had exchanged it some years ago.
I used to play the accordion during Christmas processions held by the Christian doctrine society MUSEUM.
When my father became blind at the age of 45 years, he used to enjoy hearing me play the accordion on Rediffusion’s Siegħa tal-morda. Indeed, I feel blind people should be taught to play the accordion.
I would like to appeal to anybody with any knowledge about the Settimio Soprani (Rialto) accordion I used to have to, please, write to me at P. Agius, PO Box 16, Msida. Just seeing it again would be enough for me.
