A group of women organised a fashion show this weekend in an attempt to lure young girls into the world of IT by amalgamating the two.

Organised by MissInTech, which gets young women interested in IT by providing them with information about the sector, the Dresscode: The Untold Science of a Fashion Show event was held at the Microsoft Innovation Centre in Skyparks, where prominent fashion designers showcased their work.

Among them were Maria Cutajar, Rosemarie Abela, Gaetano and three Mcast students – Elise Galea, Lourdes Giordmaina and Simona Gambacorta.

Workshops were then held with the organisers, who gave a breakdown of all the technology-related roles vital to organising such a show.

The event was also supported by Microsoft as part of its #MakeWhatsNext campaign, with a number of Mcast students and graduates from the IT, fashion and beauty courses also being involved.
