Inspired by the works of Alfred Hitchcock and Edgar Allen Poe, Ernest and the Pale Moon is a spine-chilling tale of obsession, guilt and madness.
Based on a short story by Oliver Lansley, the play focuses on Ernest Hemel, a man who spends his days watching a beautiful young woman who lives in the apartment block opposite. Upon seeing her with another man, he is thrown into a jealous rage which appears to have catastrophic consequences, although all may not be what it first seems.
A Gothic and gruesome show that is perfect to get one in the mood for Halloween, the play stars Thomas Camilleri, Jo Caruana, Chris Galea and Chiara Hyzler. It is directed by Denise Mulholland and features an original score composed by Luke Saydon.
Ernest and the Pale Moon kicks off today and is also being staged tomorrow and Sunday and on November 3 and 4. The shows, starting at 8pm, will be held at Palazzo De La Salle, Republic Street, Valletta. For more information, e-mail violets@theshrinkingviolets.com.
