Il-lukandiera, Albert Marshall’s Maltese translation of one of Carlo Goldoni’s best-known comedies, La locandiera, will be staged today and tomorrow by 4Teenth Productions in Tarxien.

The comedy is about how women can easily manipulate and attract men, making them become fragile through their mannerisms and sweet talk. Although it was written in 1753, the theme remains as relevant today as it was 260 years ago.

The cast includes Mario Camilleri, Lisa Farrugia, Sandro Vella, Patrick Tanti, Matthew Balzan, Lydia Portelli, Amanda Cachia Sammut and Frank Borg.

The production is directed by Anthony Ellul.

Il-Lukandiera will be staged at St Nicholas Hall, Tarxien, today at 7.30pm and tomorrow at 6pm. To book tickets, call 7909 6060 or visit the Facebook page of 4Teenth Productions.
