The Labour Party said it will take part in tomorrow's march in the wake of Daphne Caruana Galizia's murder, saying it was the whole nation's wish to see justice done.

In a statement, the Labour Party noted the organiser's appeal that this demonstration should not be partisan or offensive and sustains that this spirit must guide in the face of last Monday's barbaric act.

"An act to which we must answer as a united nation."

Participants will also include the Nationalist Party, Alternattiva Demokratika, the Union Haddiema Maghqudin, the General Workers' Union, the National Youth Council, Aditus and several other organisations.

In a statement this evening, the Civil Society Network said it would like to make it clear that although political parties have announced their attendance, the event was being organised by civil society members and was in no way a partisan event.

Political party, partisan and anti-partisan flags or banners would be strictly prohibited.

Political party leaders and members of parliament and their spouses/partners were not to stay in front part of the march, which would be led by civil society volunteers and speakers.

The list of speakers following the march would not include members of parliament.

"We intend to make this a historic national march calling for justice. See you at Valletta, City Gate, 4pm," the network said.

The Maltese media will unite in a common act of defiance tomorrow following the assassination of Daphne Caruana Galizia.

News organisations will display the message 'The pen conquers fear' prominently on all their print, TV and electronic media.

In a statement, the Institute of Journalists said all media representatives are urged to send a strong message that nobody can stop them in their search for the truth in their daily work.

Scores of journalists and former colleagues sent a strong message of defiance during a march in Valletta last Thursday.

Ms Caruana Galizia was killed in a powerful car bomb on Monday just metres away from her Bidnija home.
