Air Malta will be expanding its network with new routes to and from St Petersburg, Casablanca, Lisbon and Venice, Tourism Minister Konrad Mizzi said.

Speaking in Parliament, the minister said the routes will strengthen tourism aimed at the Russian market, North Africa and the Portuguese and Brazilian markets, the latter through direct routes to and from Lisbon.

The airline will start operating the new routes in December.

Air Malta recently also announced a number of new routes including Manchester, Frankfurt, Tunis, Malaga, Kiev and Comiso.
