Champions Birkirkara and title hopefuls Hibernians have claimed maximum points from their BOV Women’s League matches, last Tuesday.

While the Stripes chalked up a 4-1 win over Mġarr United, the Paolites brushed aside Fgura United 14-0 to secure sole leadership in the standings as rivals Kirkop United were held to a 1-1 draw by Tarxien Rainbows.

The Stripes proved too strong for Mġarr United with Alishia Sultana notching a brace with skipper Stephania Farrugia and new signing Jelena Sakic also putting their name on the scoresheet.

Roxanne Micallef scored a consolation goal for Mġarr.

Hibernians broke little sweat to crush a helpless Fgura United side.

Midfielder Dorianne Theuma was in fine form for the Paolites as she scored five goals in what has been a one-sided encounter.

Emma Xuereb, Francesca Chircop and Jade Flask scored a brace each with the other goals coming from Mandy Debono, Nicole Borg and an own goal by Marie Claire Alamango.

Kirkop failed to maintain their 100 per cent record as they were held to a 1-1 draw by a resilient Tarxien side.

The Reds forged ahead through Demi Magrin but Jade Schembri managed to rescue a point for the Rainbows.

In the other game of the night, an unfortunate Kate Galea own goal sealed the three points for Raiders (Luxol) against Swieqi United to record their second win of the season.

Meanwhile, the Oranges are still looking for their first points of the season.
