The Maltese media will be holding a manifestation of solidarity outside Parliament tomorrow in response to the assassination of Daphne Caruana Galizia.

All working journalists and former colleagues are being asked to meet for the symbolic event at noon. A statement will also be read out.

The public is also invited to attend.

Ms Caruana Galizia was killed in a massive explosion which blew up her car on Monday.

In January 2015 Maltese journalists had also met outside parliament in silent tribute following the terrorist attack on the offices of the French satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo in Paris, in which at least five journalists were killed.

Meanwhile, friends of the Caruana Galizia family this morning laid flowers in memory of Daphne Caruana Galizia at the foot of the Great Siege Monument opposite the law courts in Valletta. They are urging others to do the same.

University students held a silent vigil in the evening.
