The car bomb murder of blogger Daphne Caruana Galizia dominates Malta's newspapers today, with most of the newspapers also similar in the layout of their front pages.

Times of Malta uses the heading - Black Monday - a reference also to another attack on the free media when the printing press of Times of Malta was attacked and burnt down on Monday, October 15, 1979 in what was also known as Black Monday.

In contrast with the other newspapers, however, the focus of the main headline on l-orizzont is about the commitment by the prime minister not to rest until those responsible are found.

In-Nazzjon says this was 'a political murder' while the Malta Independent says this was an attack on democracy and freedom of expression.
