The Maltese Association of the Order of Malta organised its annual pilgrimage to Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary on October 7, feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. The pilgrimage was attended by patients and residents of various elderly homes, including St Vincent de Paul Residence, Gozo General Hospital, Mount Carmel Hospital and Dar l-Arka.

Mass was celebrated by Gozo Bishop Mario Grech (Grand Cross), Mgr Lawrence Gatt, principal chaplain (Grand Cross) and other priests. The Laudate Pueri choir sang during Mass.

After Mass, the president of the association, Daniel de Petri Testaferrata, accompanied by other knights presented a new automated external defibrillator (AED) and four new wheelchairs to Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary to be used by pilgrims with disability who visit the sanctuary every day.

After Mass, sick people and wheelchair users were escorted to Villa Fiorita in Marsalforn where they were served lunch by association members and other volunteers.

Spiro Sillato and his band provided entertainment during lunch.
