Malta’s five-star luxury hotel The Palace in Sliema was voted Malta’s Leading Business Hotel at the 24th edition of the World Travel Awards held last month in the hosting city, St Petersburg, Russia. The glittering event took place in the Marble Hall of the Russian Museum of Ethnography, with hundreds of hospitality leaders from across the region in attendance.

The World Travel Awards programme was established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the tourism industry. These awards have been described as the ‘Oscars’ of the travel industry by The Wall Street Journal and the winners are selected on an annual basis by an international panel of hospitality experts, trade professionals, and the public.

This prestigious award holds much more significance for The Palace, as the hotel is celebrating its 10th anniversary.

Kevin Callus, general manager of The Palace, said: “We are awfully honoured to be the recipients of such a prestigious award.  It emphasises the exceptional level of professionalism, competence and attention our teams deliver every day when looking after our guests.”
