Two people riding a motorbike were sent crashing to the ground in a traffic accident on Labour Avenue in Naxxar this morning.

The accident happened at around 10am when a motorbike and Nissan Qashqai collided.

Both the motorbike driver, a 32-year-old man, and a 26-year-old woman riding pillion were given first aid by passers-by and appeared to be conscious, an eyewitness told Times of Malta.

The two motorcycle riders are both from Naxxar, as is the 28-year-old man who was behind the wheel of the car involved.

An ambulance has been called to the scene. No further details were available at the time of writing.
