BUSUTTIL. On October 11, at Casa Antonia, Balzan, DORIS, née Mamo, of Sliema, aged 91, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved children, Denis and his wife Jennifer, Edwin and his wife Joan, and John and his wife Claudette (residing in Florida), her grandchildren Sandra and her husband Peter Said, Nadine and her partner Carlos Cluett, Ian, Mark and his wife Rebecca, Claire and her husband Martin Zarb, David and his wife Inga, Robert and Kevin, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Casa Antonia on Monday, October 16 at 1.15pm for St Gregory’s parish church, Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest. The family wish to thank the staff at Casa Antonia for the dedication shown towards Doris during her stay at the home.

DINGLI. On Thursday, October 12, at Mater Dei Hospital, ANNA (Annie) of Marsa, aged 66, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her daughter Claire, partner Joe, her brothers Joe, Maurice, Benjamin and Johnny, her sisters Maria, Therese and Rita, their spouses, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Saturday, October 14, at 8am for Maria Regina parish church, Marsa, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.45am. No flowers by request. Donations to Puttinu Cares, Mater Dei Hospital, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

LINWOOD. On October 11, at Mater Dei Hospital, MARIANNA, of Vittoriosa, aged 90, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church, surrounded by her family. She leaves to mourn her loss her children David, Manuel, Lawrence, Carmen and Frederick, their respective spouses, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her sister Maria Castagna, her nephews, nieces, family and friends. The funeral cortége leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Saturday, October 14, at 7.30am for St Lawrence parish church, Vittoriosa, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30am, followed by interment at St Lawrence Cemetery, Vittoriosa. Beautiful memories silently kept. Of one that we loved and will never forget. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

Requiem Mass

Tomorrow being the 35th anniversary since MARY D’AMATO went to meet the Risen Lord, Masses in her memory will be said at St Augustine parish church, Valletta. The attendance of relatives and friends will be appreciated.

Getting to Know God

The Secular Franciscan Order in Malta is organising a seven-week course based on the book, The Shack, by William P. Young.  The complete course, entitled ‘Getting to Know God’ (Niltaqgħu ma’ Alla) will be directed by Fr Karm Debattista MSSP.

The first meeting is being held today at 7.15pm.  All meetings will be on Fridays at the same time at Centru Franġiskan OFM Conv., Birkirkara.

There will be a donation of €15 which will also cover other optional meetings in 2018.
