I don’t understand why Martin Scicluna writes so much about the Church as though it were split. Our hearts can be divided but not our own bodies.

Personally, I would prefer to read more of his thoughts on and insights into situations where human strategy is culturally relevant for the future of man. There is obviously a vast area to explore with the difficulties in other cultures and their implication for humanism in Malta. We can start with Jerusalem and the whole Middle East question; we can take in Africa, through our connection as an EU member, symbolised monumentally in the Gordian knot in Castille, Valletta.

However, in truth, the globe, although large, is continually shrinking in human strategic terms, so there’s the whole Far East with Asia China and parts of Russia, to say nothing of the Americas. All are near enough to consider in terms of human strategy.

People understand that life is all about love and how difficult it is to find the rest all expect love to lead to. To say you don’t really believe in Jesus Christ wherever you have been to or come from on planet Earth is to say you are still looking for eternal love and I hope this little letter will help you find it. For, as Jesus proves, it is the Holy Trinity that loves us.

This is the great mystery in the centre of the love experiences inside human relations today. It is the great mystery inside the dynamism of speed and mobility, be it interstellar or microchip. It is the great mystery that converts hate into love through forgiveness in Christ’s death and resurrection on the cross.

It is the great mystery in the spirit of truth undermining money as a false idol through communion integrating the life of the mystical body so that the hearts of Christians are no longer divided by the political aspect of issues such as the true nature of the family the world over.

This is something I hope Scicluna and I can share, not only here on earth but in the beloved embrace of the Holy Trinity in the hereafter.
