Hibernians and Kirkop United are sharing top spot in the BOV Women’s League after both chalking up their second successive victory at the expense of Tarxien Rainbows and Swieqi United respectively.

Mġarr United, who had a bye on the opening day, had a positive start to the season when they had the better of Fgura United.

Hibernians maintained their 100 per cent record with a crushing 9-0 win over Tarxien Rainbows.

The Paolites were in a class of their own with Dorianne Theuma and Shona Zammit both bagging a hat-trick while Francesca Chircop added a brace. Kayleigh Chetcuti completed the rout when she netted her first goal with the senior team.

Mġarr kicked off their campaign when they eased past Fgura 5-0.

Amber Grech helped herself to a brace while Rebecca D’Agostino, Angelique Schembri and Roxanne Micallef also put their name on the scoresheet.

Kirkop United also made it two wins out of two when they broke little sweat to see off Swieqi United 3-0.

It was a convincing performance from Kirkop who grabbed the all-important goals through Emily Pace, Demi Magri and Liis Pello. Raiders (Luxol) bounced back from their opening day defeat to Birkirkara when they defeated Mosta 3-1.

Leanne Micallef was her team’s protagonist when she helped herself to a well-taken hat trick as Raiders picked up their first win of the season.
