Abela Advocates, the legal firm of Labour MP Robert Abela and his wife Lydia Abela, secretary of the Labour Party, was paid €110,000 for legal services to the infrastructure ministry in the first eight months of this year, information tabled in parliament today shows.

The firm was paid €168,598 for its services to the government in the whole of last year and €110,543 in 2015.

The information was given in reply to a parliamentary question by Nationalist MP Jason Azzopardi.
