A PhD summer school on integrated product development (IPD) set up four years ago by Jonathan Borg from the University of Malta’s Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering and by Sandor Vajna fromOtto-von-Guericke University in Magdeburg, Germany, was recently held in Germany. The summer school, endorsed by the Worldwide Design Society, this year attracted PhD candidates from China, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Iran and Tunisia.
